Pheasant Festivals in the Canadian Badlands

October 13, 2016 to October 22, 2016

October sees three Pheasant Festivals happening in the Canadian Badlands in Stettler, Taber, and along Highway 41. Even if you're not a hunter, there's something for you to explore.

Stettler Pheasant Festival (October 13th to 16th)

The Canadian Badlands Pheasant Festival Stettler is a 4 day festival featuring ½ day pheasant hunts with interactive sessions for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy. Private lands with same day pheasant releases make this not for profit festival extraordinary. With a Friday evening banquet, dog training classes, a culinary event, beginner hunt sessions and more planned, this year is promising to be even bigger and better. Each ½ day hunt includes the release of 8 pheasants with more available for purchase. Teams of up to 4 members and their dogs will enjoy the knob and kettle scenery that Stettler and the County offer while partaking in a favorite pastime. With conservation of the Chinese Ring-necked Pheasants as the main goal, this event has successfully released over 300 hens to date and chicks have been successfully hatched in the area. Visit the event website for more information or to register to hunt!
